Uppingham School

Hollywood star Hugh Jackman made a flying visit to Uppingham on Thursday 24th May.  Currently filming Les Misérables on location in England he made time in his busy schedule to revisit the School he had worked for during his Gap Year in 1987.

"I just had a ball.  I really could have stayed," he has said in the past.  For many years he has wanted to find time to return.  He has kept in contact with some of the boys who were in the House he tutored in, and returned with Old Uppinghamian Richard Billington to revisit old haunts and reminisce about their time at the School. 

Hugh spent time with the current chort of Brooklands pupils, met the Headmaster, and had a whistle-stop tour of the School before whizzing back to the Les Miserable set.
