Some frequently asked questions - however, do not hesitate to contact us with any further queries here

How will the pupils move between lessons?

As with all pupils they enjoy the independence and responsibility of moving between teaching areas. During their first few weeks in the lower school, they will be supported and helped to do so safely and speedily.

What are the bounds in the town for Years 7 and 8?

All shops and the town itself will be out of bounds to pupils in Years 7 and 8, unless accompanied by a member of staff, for example, Matron taking a group of pupils to Baines Bakery for a treat.

Is there be a minibus service?

The Lower School pupils will be able to sign up for the Home to School (H2S) minibus services which are already offered to Uppingham School pupils. We are keen to hear of other routes that parents would appreciate us including on the list, to feed into our plans for expanding the H2S network of minibuses.

Does the Lower School follow the same term dates as the older years?

Yes, the terms, half terms, and leave out weekends are the same for the Year 7 and 8s as they are for the other pupils at the School.

Will pupils have their own space for storing kit and belongings?

There is space available for storing bags and dirty boots! There are device lockers for laptops, and some charging trolleys for devices in the Matron's office. If pupils have a mobile phone, these will be expected to be handed in to Matron each day, who will store them securely and return them at the end of the day.
