Rob’s coaching experience is further enhanced by his own experiences as a professional cricketer. Following his education at Maidwell Hall and Harrow School, he played for Loughborough University, MCC, Leicestershire, and Scotland, and continues to play cricket for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

Rob Taylor said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have been appointed as Director of Cricket at Uppingham School. I am really looking forward to building on an already well-established cricket programme. It is important there is a strong offer for both boys and girls who wish to maximise their cricketing skills at the school, and that Uppingham is competing strongly on the field.”

Dr Richard Maloney, Headmaster of Uppingham School, said: “Cricket at Uppingham has a long and distinguished heritage, and Rob Taylor’s breadth of knowledge and experience as both a professional and a high-level men’s and women’s coach will inspire our cricketers to achieve excellence within one of our School’s most popular and valued sports.

“Rob is immensely well-respected in the coaching world, and we know he will be an excellent mentor and role model for our pupils. We are excited to welcome him to Uppingham in September, and to see how his ambition and enthusiasm further strengthen our cricket programme.”
