It's been another brilliant week for Uppingham Sport!

Following a victory on Thursday against Stowe (34-17), the 1st VII netball team travelled to Oundle on Saturday for the Regional Schools Tournament. After a slow start, play improved over the latter matches, with the team securing a win in the final game to go through to the playoffs against Oundle, where they achieved another win after extra time. Although this wasn't enough to make it through to Nationals, the team put in a great effort and had plenty to take away from the tournament.

Staying with netball, there were a total of 13 fixtures against Stamford on Saturday, with great wins for the 2nd VII (19-11), U15A (27-19), U15B (31-24), U14A (28-17), U14B (14-11) and U14C squads (15-10).

The excitement continued on Saturday with boys' hockey, with the 1st XI (2-1), 2nd XI (2-1) and 3rd XI (7-1) all winning their matches against Stowe.

Cross-country continued to go from strength to strength in their third league match of the season in Rugby with another clean sweep - that makes it three in a row!

Tuesday brought with it further victories for the Mixed 1st and 2nd VI badminton teams against Stamford, alongside the boys' U18A and U18B squash teams winning their fixtures against Bedford.

This paved the way for a superb National Cup match for the boys' hockey 1st XI, who won 4-1 against Oundle and progress to the third round. The U15A followed this with another win on Wednesday, this time against Leicester Grammar School (6-2).

The final 'Super Saturday' of fixtures before half term brings with it plenty of excitement. Fixtures include: badminton, football, netball, squash, hockey and swimming v Rugby, and basketball v Bromsgrove.
