Appointment of new Chair of Trustees

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Cynthia Alers as Chair-designate of Trustees at Uppingham School.

Cynthia brings significant experience in governance, finance and strategic leadership across the public, charitable and listed company sectors, together with a deep personal commitment to education. A former Uppingham parent to two Old Uppinghamians, she is driven by her desire to give something back to a school that brings out the best in its pupils and inspires in them a lifelong love of learning.

Cynthia succeeds Barbara Matthews, whose leadership and dedication as Chair have made an outstanding contribution to the School over many years. We are immensely grateful to Barbara for her service.
